Personality

Bloodfang is a stubborn and brave individual. She acts with little concern for negative consequences, especially if those consequences relate solely to herself. All that matters to her is protecting others like her, though the way she goes about it doesn't always give the intended result.

Simultaneously trying to better and destroy society through her actions, she seems like a mess of contradictions until one gets to know her. She believes the world can only be bettered if its discriminatory systems are torn down first, and wants justice for those like her.

History

Summary

Born to a mother who hated her for her nature, Bloodfang grew up neglected and discriminated against. She formed a close bond with the one classmate who refused to participate, Fi, that she carried into adulthood. Bloodfang protested whenever she could, avoiding violence as much as possible, but still drew the ire of law enforcement. When Fi was killed in a raid on her home, she turned her back on society, vowing to tear it down, and eschewed her previously nonviolent ways. She assassinated her own mother when she drafted a law that would harm many katiren, loudly taking responsibility for it. When her brother, Persi, was also assassinated, she stayed silent--because she didn't do it. Now, working alongside Felid and Exie, she aims to find out who did.

Detailed History
  • Bloodfang was born to Klovi, a Yakomtir (member of the council that runs the tirtenian government) alongside her sibling, Persi. Because Bloodfang was born as a katir and neither Klovi nor her S/O were katiren, her S/O accused her of being unfaithful and left her, not wanting to raise a katir. Klovi already despised katiren, so she used this as an excuse to treat Bloodfang poorly, and favored Persi.
  • Because of her claws, Bloodfang couldn't hide that she was a katir, so she was bullied by her peers for it--save for one: Fi. She and Fi grew very close, and eventually established a romantic relationship as adults.
  • Bloodfang began her acts of defiance small, starting with vandalism and peaceful protests. But enforcement grew more and more violent toward her, until eventually she was forced to take up arms. She stayed with Fi, and when her home was finally found, the ensuing raid resulted in Fi's death.
  • Bloodfang grew more disruptive and violent after that, enraged by Fi's death and society's increasing hostility toward katiren. When she learned Klovi was drafting a law banning hats (which would force many katiren to expose themselves), she knew she had to act. She killed Klovi before the draft could be proposed and destroyed any remaining information about it. She proudly took responsibility for the crime.
  • Despite all of Klovi's actions, Bloodfang still kept in contact with Persi. He was the one who told her about the draft. When he was killed and she was accused of the crime, she knew it was a cover up... but for what?
  • She encountered Felid and Exie, who were also investigating the murder, and offered to team up with them. They cautiously accepted.

  • Fi: Fi was Bloodfang's childhood friend and romantic partner.
  • Jaes: Bloodfang knows Jaes as Felid, her investigational partner. She feels a sense of kinship toward him, since he is a fellow katir.
  • Kendra: Initially an enemy, Bloodfang was charmed when Kendra switched sides.
  • Natara: Bloodfang knows Natara as Exie, her investigational partner. However, Natara is also her estranged niece. When she learns of this, she is happy to be reunited with her, despite the circumstances.
  • Persi: Persi was Bloodfang's brother. Because of Klovi, they didn't have a very close relationship until adulthood, when both of them obtained enough distance from her to mend the rift she caused with her favortism.

  • Klovi: Klovi was Bloodfang's mother. Because she mistreated her, Bloodfang despised her.
  • Custard: As the head of Science Kom, Custard frequently puts out biased, anti-katir research. Bloodfang wants to see her torn down, and suspects that she may have been responsible for Persi's death, as the two had a very nasty divorce many years ago.
  • Slade: As a Yakomtir and close associate to Custard, Bloodfang has suspicions about Slade. But even if she didn't, he's still yet another anti-katir yakomtir.
