Personality

Vanya is a generally grumpy character. He has reverse-empathy powers, so he feels the emotions of others as their opposites, which compels him to cause suffering to alleviate his own. He views these powers as a curse, and hates himself for giving in to their demands so frequently.

History

He and Hanah knew each other when they were kids, but they were separated by war. Vanya rose up in the ranks of the rebels fighting against the crown. Heart hardened from loss, he met Hanah again. They kept meeting, and he fell in love. But then she betrayed him. It turned out, she was the queen's notoriously secretive advisor, and had been a spy the entire time. Having lost everything, Vanya broke himself out of prison and attempted to kill Hanah and the queen, but nearly died in the process. Scrap convinced Checksum to take pity on him and Hanah, so Checksum turned them into the admins of instinct force. Now, Vanya spends most of his time hiding from Hanah and aiding Risk with deleting universes.

Allies
  • Axis: Though Vanya feels he can never truly connect with another being after being made into an admin, Axis comes close. They both came from existing universes, and they were both lower on the power hierarchy.
  • Risk: Vanya appreciates Risk for taking him in, though he finds his antics obnoxious at times.
Foes
  • Hanah: Vanya, despite everything, can never truly hate Hanah. Perhaps it's something Checksum did to him when he was revived. But he desperately wishes things between them could have worked.
