Checksum is a selfish control freak that battles constant ennui, constantly growing bored of zeir tightly-controlled projects yet unable to let go of zeir control. Ze is snarky and sarcastic, always ready to supply a witty comment, and enjoys the suffering of others. Ze holds little value for others beyond how they can entertain zem.

History

Summary

Checksum appeared in Primespace with Risk and Scrap. While they discovered their abilities quickly, Checksum took some time to discover zeirs. But eventually, ze discovered ze could edit things Scrap created. When Scrap and Risk began arguing over the use of Risk's abilities, Checksum sided with Risk, knowing that zeir powers could only work if Scrap was around to create things. As time went on, ze grew bored of the things around zem and encouraged Scrap to create more and more, while secretly encouraging Risk to delete works ze lost interest in, only fueling their spat further. Ze has interfered in many worlds to entertain zemself, leaving tragedy in zeir wake.

Detailed History

• Checksum, Risk, and Scrap appeared in Primespace.
• Scrap discovered she could create. Soon after, Risk accidentally deleted one of her creations, leading to an argument, but Checksum stepped in.
• Checksum discovered ze could edit objects. With Scrap and Risk's squabbles only intensifying, ze concocted a plan to have the best of both.
• Ze encouraged Scrap to create endless universes to sate its boredom while encouraging Risk to delete the ones it lost interest in.
• After a particularly dramatic setup tugged at Scrap's heart, Scrap begged Checksum to revive the two individuals they were fixated on. Checksum acquiesced, reviving Vanya and Hanah as admins.
• At one point, Flipnote V3-EX, a corrupted universe, drew Checksum's attention. Xe decided to play a game, bringing a recently deceased resident, Ambush (later YTIY), back to life and telling it to follow a specific ritual to fix his broken world. Ambush followed the ritual, but instead of fixing his world, it deleted it. Ambush swore vengeance, but Checksum merely laughed at him.
• Root escaped her home universe. Checksum, upon discovering this, was prepared to remove her, but Root asked to make a deal with zem. Amused by Root's audacity, Checksum allowed her to stay in Primespace.
• Ambush, now YTIY, lured Checksum to Catcross V1-RV, where Jaes and others attempted to fight zem. Checksum, realizing that Jaes with the Calwatch was a legitimate threat, erased him and his allies from existence. Ze spared YTIY, curious to see what it would do not that its plans had failed.
• A second attempt to kill zem in Tirtenian V2-IN resulted in the death of all members of the attacking party but Pom and YTIY.
• A third attempt, set in Tirtenian V2-GD, also failed, this time with its Pom using the Calwatch to take manual control of her universe in an attempt to save her friends' lives.
• YTIY, still bent on vengeance, went to yet another universe, Tirtenian V2-FI. Checksum, now recognizing the pattern, waits eagerly for it to strike.

• Hanah: Attracted to power, Hanah is easy for Checksum to control.
• Risk: Risk's abilities to destroy and delete are very valuable to Checksum.
• Root: Root's audacity amuses Checksum, and ze has found they share many beliefs.
• Scrap: Scrap's ability to create things is essential for Checksum's powers to be useful.

• Abyss: Although Abyss despises zem, Checksum sees little reason to be concerned about him.
• Axis: Checksum dislikes Axis's proximity to Risk and wants him eliminated to ensure zeir control over Risk remains intact.
