Permission Statement

What is this?

Despite the formatting, this is just general permission statement! It is not a legal agreement, merely a statement of boundaries. Take it as "if you do x, I am most likely to do y."

I'm generally okay with people reposting or playing with my art and writing as long as they aren't being jerks, but that's pretty vague, so this statement sets out to outline what "being a jerk" means to me, and what exactly I consider my art.

Definitions

• Art: Mrnnki's creative works in all mediums (examples: writing, drawings).
• Commissions: art made by Mrnnki for a client.
• Credit:
  • If in a digital format with hyperlinks: a direct, clickable link to the source page (examples: Pillowfort post, Wafrn post, Ao3 work, website page) and/or a link directly to the homepage of this website. Links to this website are highly preferred if an entry featuring the art being used or referenced exists on it.
  • If in print, video, or another format without the ability to hyperlink: a mention of Mrnnki by name. A mention of the address of Mrnnki's website is preferred but not required.
• Fanworks: art made by Mrnnki involving characters that Mrnnki doesn't own, which is primarily intended for fans of the characters, and not intended to be seen by the creators of the characters.
• Free to Use/F2U art: art made by Mrnnki for others to use.
• Gifts: art made by Mrnnki for a recipient.
• (Mrnnki's) Original characters: characters owned by Mrnnki (see the chardex for examples).
• Original species: fictional species created by Mrnnki (see the original-species tag for examples).
• Personal art: art made by Mrnnki for Mrnnki's own use or entertainment.

Statement

Coverage

This statement covers any art (examples: drawings, writing, videos) created, published and owned by Mrnnki, under previous or future names, on any platform, unless otherwise indicated. All personal and F2U art is property of Mrnnki. Commissions are owned by the client, and gifts are owned by their recipients. Use of commissions is controlled by the client. Use of gifts is controlled by the recipient. Mrnnki generally does not publish commissions, but may publish gifts. Because Mrnnki releases ownership of commissions and gifts to the recipient/client, they are not covered by this policy. Contact the recipient/client if you want to use a commission or gift Mrnnki has made.

Portions of art not owned or made by Mrnnki (examples: the music in a PMV, parts or characters by others in a collaborative project) are not covered by this statement. Usage of those portions are controlled by their respective rights holders.

As a general rule, visual art made after July 1st, 2025 that contains Mrnnki's signature is visual art Mrnnki retains all rights to, as Mrnnki does not sign commissions or gifts.

Code, such as HTML, CSS, or PHP, is not covered by this statement, but the art within code is. For example, someone posting an exact copy of this website is covered under this statement, but someone taking this website and using it as a template for their own (replacing the art with their own) is not, because Mrnnki's art was not used. Code may be covered by other policies or licenses.

F2U/Free to Use Art

All art labeled F2U/Free to Use is available for use under CC-BY-4.0 unless otherwise indicated.

You may transform, repost, recreate, commercially use, and all other rights afforded by CC-BY-4.0 any F2U art following the terms of this license.

Fanworks

All fanworks may be freely modified and shared with credit. No money may be made from their use. Mrnnki's fanworks are created without commercial intent, and this must be preserved in any derivative works.

Personal Art

Freedoms

You are free to:

• Create derivative works based on any of Mrnnki's personal art.
• Reshare, repost, or republish any of Mrnnki's personal art.
• Utilize the original species featured in Mrnnki's personal art in both commercial and non-commercial projects.

Restrictions

You cannot:

• Require payment to access any derivative works that contain Mrnnki's original characters.
• Require payment to access reposts/reshares of Mrnnki's art.
• Include Mrnnki's personal art in datasets for training image, text, or voice generation models.
• Claim or imply that Mrnnki endorses your usage of Mrnnki's personal art or that you are associated with Mrnnki.
• Utilize Mrnnki's name, logos representing Mrnnki or Mrnnki's art (examples: the Nebulisae logo, the split-face cat logo), or sona (Renookie) as part of marketing a work.

Requirements

You must:

• Provide credit (see definition in Definitions section).
• Release any derivative works under licenses or statements granting the same level of freedoms provided in this statement or more.
• Indicate what, if any, changes have been made if Mrnnki's personal art has been directly used.

Violations

If someone violates this statement, Mrnnki may request a takedown of the violating work(s).

Other Uses

If you wish to use Mrnnki's art for purposes not covered by or that are disallowed by this statement, contact Mrnnki for permission.
