I felt like drawing but didn't want to work on anything polished, and pencil sketches are good for that. They're nearly impossible to scan well, though. At least reducing the colors in squoosh got rid of some of the noise.
The first one plays on how Snobal's malocclusion makes it look like he's "always smiling"--a symbol of how he wasn't allowed to be himself. The paws are Tabith's, reaching down to control him.
The second is, of course, the moment Tabith loses Snobal to the ice. She's horrified. Snobal was her everything. She gave up so much for him, and now he's gone.
